what I got

Sorry, Larissa. You can comfort yourself with the knowledge that I apparently went a good bit crazier than you did with this sale. And I, too, am waiting on my backorders. Erm...and that second order. (That one was totally your fault, though.)

Here's one frustrating thing about impulse fabric shopping, for me. Just how much fabric do you buy? A yard? Two? Some of these beauties I have specific plans for, so those were easy, but the others were a yardage crap shoot. I just wanted as many of those yummy prints as I could possibly get. I ended up going with around a yard each thinking that that would be plenty for simple outfits for Audrey (most are 54" wide), bags, or throw pillows, for which my sofas are crying out. No self control, I tell you.

Another frustrating thing about impulse fabric shopping? That it generally happens when I'm not actually getting any sewing done. But, hey, my fabric shelves sure look pretty these days...

oooooooooooooooh...oooooh. pretttttty. The one AB Nigella fabric I ordered is never coming, they emailed to say it is no longer available. Tough luck me. Yeah, I have a difficult time knowing how much to get. I try to shoot high, there is nothing more frustrating than running out of fabric.

I forgot to ask, whatcha makin? I mean the stuff you already planned.

Hey, Larry. I'm planning to at least make Audrey a dress, eventually, and Gage a superhero cape out of a green cotton that I didn't photo. Other than that, I just have some vague notions about skirts, pillows, simple dresses for Aud. The kind of thing that I pretty much know how much fabric I'll need.

As I type this, I'm thinking how insane I am to even have a sewing list, since I can't seem to crank out even one stinkety project these days. Sigh...

those all sound cute, and of course you must post them when you ARE able to make them.

Thanks, both of you ladies for the heads up on the fabric sale a week or so ago. I bought a load as well and am still waiting for one back-ordered batch. I'm thinking purses for mine, but I love making skirts too. Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for the photos of what you bought. It's just so hard to rein myself in when buying fabric. I keep thinking what if I want more, and they stop making it?!?

K - Totally. I tend to forget in my sale frenzy that next week someone else will be debuting a new, equally fabulous collection. And that, in a month or two, it,too, will be on sale and on its way out the door to make room for the next...

It would probably make a lot more sense for me to order specific fabric for a specific project when I have a specific day or two set aside to sew.

But where's the fun in that?
